A 23-year-old woman in Saskatoon was arrested in connection with a violent break-and-enter earlier this year.
Just after 8 p.m. on Feb. 7, four men and a woman illegally entered an apartment in the 100 block of Reindeer Road in the Lawson Heights neighbourhood, assaulting one of the two occupants inside, according to a police news release.
The suspects, three of whom were believed to be carrying firearms, took cash and hydromorphone pills from the apartment.

Tyr, a canine officer with the Saskatoon Police Service, was the first of his breed to become a full-fledged patrol dog in the country, according to Saskatoon police.

La Loche RCMP say they are in a battle to control dangerous use of all-terrain vehicles on local streets, roads and highways — and that some ATV drivers may have struck back.
Police seized six ATVs “after a couple nights of eventful covert surveillance” this past weekend. According to La Loche RCMP in a news release, the six ATVs were previously seen “fleeing from police (and) driving in an erratic and dangerous manner.”

Fire crews needed 7 hours to bring blaze near Cranberry Flats under control
A grass fire near Cranberry Flats was brought under control Tuesday night after Saskatoon firefighters spent nearly seven hours battling the blaze.
The fire, which was burning along Strathcona Avenue, was declared under control Tuesday around 8:50 p.m. Crews fought the blaze for about six hours and 45 minutes, according to a fire department news release.

Large grass fire brought under control by SFD
A grass fire near Cranberry Flats is under control after Saskatoon firefighters spent nearly seven hours battling the blaze Tuesday afternoon and evening.
No one was injured in the fire and a damage estimate will not be provided, the Saskatoon Fire Department (SFD) said in a press release.
The release said that changing winds and dry conditions posed challenges for responding crews, but firefighters were able to stop the blaze from spreading to nearby homes, buildings and livestock yards.
