If I ever needed a refresher course in the benefits of Democratic socialism it was realized on a recent trip to the American south.
These are not places where you venture out after dark.
Homeless people are everywhere begging for handouts as there is no place for them here. They are the forgotten, the ignored, the castoffs of capitalism.
Do not look into their eyes as it reflects the void of humanity. They are unwanted.
Yes, there are five star hotels, casinos, beaches and them -
Prepare a living will while healthy, experts say
Even if they are in good health, Canadians should create an advance care plan or a living will — and the Saskatchewan Health Authority and Saskatchewan Cancer Agency want to help.
April 16 is National Advance Care Plan Day. Health officials in Saskatchewan are encouraging people to form a living will to provide guidance about their health care when they can’t articulate their wishes. This includes whether or not to use life support, resuscitate or only use medication to control pain.
