After reaching the national championship final and claiming silver a year ago, the University of Saskatchewan Huskies will play for the bronze this time around.
Saskatchewan fell 73-66 to the McMaster University Marauders in U Sports Final 8 women’s basketball semifinal action Saturday afternoon in Toronto.
For McMaster, it marks the first time the Marauders have ever reached the national championship final.
On Saturday, McMaster jumped out to a quick 8-2 lead and never once trailed agains

City dealing with high number of frozen water connections
The City of Saskatoon is asking residents to be proactive to prevent frozen pipes and to be prepared if you notice water main breaks occurring close to your home.
According to a city news release, currently 80 homes are reported to have no running water because of frozen connections due to deep ground frost freezing pipes that are not insulated or used often. The city says this increase in frozen pipes and connections has been caused by the coldest February in the last 80 years.

Hole: Weird seed abounds on the prairie
When I was growing up on our family’s vegetable farm, we had acre upon acre of vegetables. Deciding which varieties to sow depended, to a great extent, on what vegetables grew well in our region and, of course, what our customers wanted.
Each year, we always trialed a few new and unusual vegetable varieties to see how they would grow and sell. We quickly learned that the vast majority of our customers didn’t like vegetables that deviated from the norm, especially when it came to colo -

Opinion: Sask. NDP's scattergun approach missing the target
The performance of the New Democratic Opposition so far during the Saskatchewan legislature’s spring session provides little cause for optimism that it is ready to hold to account a Saskatchewan Party government with a predictably blasé attitude toward accountability after 11 years in power.
Under Leader Ryan Meili, the NDP appears to have adopted a scattergun approach to question period, raising about six disparate questions each day.

Kendra Cruson, the chamber’s vice-president of operations, says the decision to move came after the lease at their old location ended and they realized that to continue growing as an organization they would need additional rooms to accommodate more staff, as well as a space that was large enough to allow the chamber to host their members in house -

Food waste on campus
I read with significant interest and with both optimism and horror your piece entitled “No wasted waste” (SP, Feb. 20).
