CANMORE, AB — A massive drug bust in January involving a 39-year-old Saskatchewan man is evidence that the black market for marijuana is still thriving, RCMP say.
On Jan. 26, Mounties stopped a speeding pickup truck on the Trans-Canada Highway near Banff.
A subsequent search of the vehicle found 147 kilograms of cannabis along with two kilograms of a cannabis resin called shatter, one kilogram of THC edibles, 4.5 kilograms of psilocybin mushrooms and $11,000 in Canadian currency.

Robert Major appeals guilty verdicts in crash that killed his sons and girlfriend
Two weeks after a Saskatoon Court of Queen’s Bench jury found him guilty of 12 driving-related offences for a crash that killed his two sons and girlfriend, Robert Major is appealing his convictions.
Major, 35, was convicted on Jan. 24 of three counts of dangerous driving causing bodily harm, three counts of dangerous driving causing death, three counts of criminal negligence causing bodily harm and three counts of criminal negligence causing death.
