A train around 50 cars long and carrying grain derailed and caught fire Tuesday morning at Highway 11 and Wanuskewin Road.
The derailment took place Tuesday shortly before 10 a.m. Saskatoon fire crews, Warman RCMP, Corman Park police and other first responders were all on the scene. There was a fire at the scene of the derailment, according to Saskatoon fire, as well as a possible diesel leak. The train also spilled grain.

The Saskatoon Police Service stopped sending the personal information of people in its cells to Legal Aid Saskatchewan after the province’s privacy commissioner learned about the practice and launched an investigation.
In a decision handed down this month, Ron Kruzeniski said his office was conducting a separate investigation last summer when it learned the city police force shared “cell sheets” with the agency responsible for representing vulnerable people in court.

PINEHOUSE — The Northern Village of Pinehouse has no plans to overhaul the way it responds to Freedom of Information requests, says Mayor Mike Natomagan.
The Province of Saskatchewan ordered an inspection of the village late last year after the provincial privacy commissioner expressed concern that the village had either delayed or failed to respond to requests for information at least 13 times between 2013 and 2018, which runs contrary to provincial laws.
