Former Humboldt teammates attending NHL and NFL games in Denver this weekend
DENVER — Former Humboldt Broncos teammates Jacob Wassermann and Ryan Straschnitzki received a standing ovation from hockey fans at the University of Denver Friday and will likely get the same treatment at a Colorado Avalanche game Saturday evening.
Both players were paralyzed April 6 when a bus carrying the Broncos was hit by a semi-trailer, killing 16 and injuring 13.
The duo reunited in a exhibition sledge hockey game — their first time together on the ice since the crash.

With the festive season upon us, it’s time to think about what platters of delicious things you want to serve to your guests.
There is a roast beast of some sort which typically is the star attraction (turkey, goose, ham, prime rib come to mind immediately), with the stuffing and gravy falling in line behind.

Multiple denominations work together at Horizon College and Seminary
Horizon College and Seminary in Saskatoon is a prime example of the time-honoured claim that nothing stays the same.
Originally established in Star City, Sask., in 1935 by the Pentecostal denomination as Bethel Bible Institute, the Bible school relocated to Avenue A in Saskatoon in 1937. Following a move to Jackson Avenue in the 1960s, it was renamed Central Pentecostal College. In 2007 it became Horizon College and Seminary.

Homes: Divide and conquer clutter
Open concept floor plans have dominated the new home market for most of this decade. While the open flow and flexibility of a combined living room, kitchen and dining area are appealing, there are disadvantages.

Jenielle Henderson grew up in a family that wouldn’t dream of shopping anywhere but the Saskatoon Co-op, and it was natural for her to take a job with the member-owned retailer when she was still a teen.
Over the next 13 years, Henderson rose through the ranks, from her first job in the cafeteria at the old Westview grocery store to her new job managing files and reports at the much newer University Heights store.

Paulsen: Times of crisis bring communities together
A couple of weeks ago, my family and I attended a round dance and feast in support of missing and murdered Indigenous women. The event was hosted by the Saskatoon Police Service and RCMP.

The topic of global warming is extremely important. The most highly respected body of scientists in the world on this topic, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), issued a few weeks ago a scientific update recommending that countries over the whole world adopt measures to reduce very greatly the increase in carbon dioxide and methane in the atmosphere.
In the opinion of many people who have thought about it, the most effectiv -

Cuthand: Indigenous languages are at risk of disappearing
Indigenous languages are at risk throughout North and South America. What were once thriving languages are dying off, in spite of efforts to save them.
Canada has about 60 Aboriginal languages and all but three are considered at risk of disappearing.

Boarding schools have long been considered the culprit, but while the use of their language was forbidden, the students would r -
