Saskatoon Co-op files unfair labour practice complaints as strike continues
Saskatoon Co-op has filed two unfair labour practice complaints against the union representing around 900 employees currently on strike, one of which also names a former union representative who started a petition to unseat its board of directors.
The first complaint alleges that both United Food and Commercial Workers Local 1400 and Craig Thebaud used the petition as “an improper bad faith tactic” to undermine bargaining and “interfere” with the co-operative’s gove -

Nutana resident Linda Epstein is so opposed to a proposal for bus-only lanes on Broadway Avenue, she is already making plans to move if it happens.
Epstein was among dozens who attended an engagement session Thursday by the City of Saskatoon to offer information and gather input on the city’s plan to revamp its transit system.
Many of those who turned up clearly did so because they believe bus-only lanes would harm the character of the Broadway business district.

Howard Schemenauer was chosen as the winner of the $1.3 million home, located in the southeast corner of the city, and he was on hand with wife Yvette so celebrate.

Taser used by Saskatoon police, woman charged following traffic stop
Saskatoon police used a Taser to subdue a 25-year-old woman following a traffic stop involving a stolen vehicle.
On Thursday around 8:15 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop of what was believed to be a stolen vehicle in the 200 block of Avenue L South. As officers approached the vehicle, the woman attempted to drive away, police said in a news release.
As a result, police deployed a conducted energy weapon — commonly known as a Taser — and took the driver safely into custody -

James Koroll has spent the last seven days mourning his father — and searching for the Good Samaritan who called paramedics and assisted Koroll’s dad in the final moments of his life.
“I’d just love to thank them so much for being a caring individual, and tell them a little bit about my dad — let them know what he meant to me,” Koroll said Friday in an interview.
