At roughly 3:45 p.m. on Monday, officers were dispatched to Avenue T North and Rusholme Road for reports a car had hit a child, according to a news release from city police.
When police arrived, they found a seven-year-old boy suffering from injuries police say were serious, but not life threatening. Police indicate it was reported the victim was trying to cross Avenue T North when he was hit.

Prison watchdog slams investigation of deadly riot in Saskatchewan
OTTAWA — The federal prison watchdog is accusing the Correctional Service of Canada of withholding information and misleading the public about a deadly 2016 riot at the Saskatchewan Penitentiary.
Correctional investigator Ivan Zinger says in his annual report today that in light of his findings the prison service should not investigate itself in cases involving a riot, death or suicide in solitary confinement, or death following forceful intervention.
