• RCMP investigating death of 57-year-old man as suspicious

  A 57-year-old man is dead and Turtleford RCMP are investigating the death as suspicious after police received a call about an unresponsive man on the Thunderchild First Nation on Sept. 15.
  Upon arrival, members of the RCMP were able to locate the man, who has been identified as Roger Standingwater, and reported that he was in “medical distress,” according to an RCMP news release.
  Paramedics arrived a short time later and determined that Standingwater had died.

  According to an RCMP news release, the crash happened six kilometres south of Kerrobert, in a location about eight kilometres east of Highway 21 on Pipeline Road.
  Police said a pickup truck was eastbound on Pipeline Road when it left the road and entered the ditch on the south side. The steep ditch caused the truck to roll, and the man was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
