Saskatoon man, now 78, accused of sexually assaulting former student in 1970s
A 78-year-old man in Saskatoon has been charged after a former student reported being sexually assaulted by the teacher in the 1970s.
Saskatoon police were contacted by Calgary police earlier this year after a 50-year-old woman reported being sexually assaulted between 1977 and 1979. The 78-year-old man, who lives in Saskatoon, was arrested on Sept. 7 by members of the sex crimes and child abuse unit, Saskatoon police said in a news release.

Letter of the Day: Overwhelmed by acts of kindness
In the space of an hour or less, I was the recipient of three acts of kindness recently.
A man picked up my fallen bank card and returned it to me as I was waiting in line at my bank.
On picking up a large bag of kitty litter without getting a cart first, another kind man carried it to the checkout and placed it on the counter. After making a payment, the clerk went for a cart so I’d have an easier time getting it to my car.
Overwhelming to say the least!
