Letter of the Day: Garbage numbers are hardly complex

Bridges cover: Philanthropist David Edney makes yoga accessible
There are clear moments in David Edney’s life when he attributes a sudden change in course to his “guardian angel.”
It happened in 2011, when Edney was listening to a radio interview criticizing inmates’ access to exercise programs while incarcerated. A firm believer in rehabilitation, Edney pondered what he could offer people behind bars.
Edney was a retired French professor, but he didn’t think the jails would find his European French useful. Then it struck him: H -

Kormish: World Cup in Russia was a first-class experience
From June 14 to July 15, the greatest sporting event of 2018 was held in Russia.
I was fortunate enough to be there from start to finish. The biggest takeaway from my 33-day trip was the hospitality. Locals’ top priority was to ensure guests enjoyed their stay. People’s doors were open, there was no sense of greed or deception. It was genuine and resounding.
In the lead-up to the tournament, many Russians reached out to potential travellers through social media. I had difficulty find -

As investigators examine the life of Faisal Hussain, the Danforth shooter in Toronto who killed two people and wounded a dozen others, it seems a bit glib to chalk up his murderous shooting rampage to a “lifetime of severe mental health challenges.”
