A kitten is recovering at the Saskatoon SPCA after being hanged from a swing set and sprayed with pepper spray by a group of teens.
Yogi was rescued on July 9 after witnesses saw the teens spraying the feline “as she screamed in agony,” the SPCA said in a Facebook post.

The group fled the scene and a witness called the SPCA’s emergency after-hours staff. Yogi was taken for urgent attention to the Western College of Veterinary Medicine.

The body of a four-year-old boy who was presumed drowned in the North Saskatchewan River more than two months ago has been found near the James Smith Cree Nation.
Sweetgrass Kennedy was last seen in Prince Albert on May 10 around 3 p.m., when according to witnesses children had been seen playing along the riverbank. Seven days later, a massive search for Kennedy became a recovery effort after authorities said he was presumed to have drowned in the fast-flowing river.

Staff at a Taco Bell location called Saskatoon police after a 32-year-old man suffering from stab wounds walked into the restaurant.
Officers responded to the restaurant in the 1300 block of 22nd Street West on Monday around 1 p.m. after staff saw an injured man enter the building.

OSHAWA — A Humboldt Broncos player injured in a deadly crash in Saskatchewan has signed with a hockey team at an Ontario post-secondary institution.
Matthieu Gomercic, a 20-year-old forward from Winnipeg, is joining the Ridgebacks at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology in Oshawa.
Coach Curtis Hodgins says in a news release that Gomercic has a big frame, protects pucks well and is a great addition to the team.

PM Trudeau asks transport minister to tackle Greyhound’s pullout of western Canada
OTTAWA — Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says he’s asked Transport Minister Marc Garneau to find solutions following Greyhound’s withdrawal of bus service from western Canada.
Trudeau calls Greyhound’s move “difficult” for people who live on the Prairies and for those who are already struggling economically.
