New 'community industry' to give critical job skills to people leaving prison
The Correctional Service of Canada has opened a special facility in Saskatoon to give departing inmates the chance to learn crucial job skills and re-enter the workforce.
Saskatoon Community Industry is part of a five-year Indigenous Offender Employment Initiative that launched in 2017. The goal in Saskatoon is to provide applicable job skills in the construction industry for Indigenous offenders leaving the federal correctional system.

Man stabbed during attack in Saskatoon alleyway
City police are looking for four suspects after a man was jumped by a group of people early Friday.
At roughly 1:45 a.m., a man was walking on 2nd Avenue Near 21st Street when a woman called him over to an alleyway in Saskatoon’s Central Business District, according to a police news release.
As he entered the alley, he was attacked by three males. A scuffle occurred between the two parties and the man was able to escape, but suffered a stab wound to the back as a result.

Police investigating after man falls from sixth floor apartment
Saskatoon police are continuing an investigation after a 38-year-old man from Prince Albert fell from the sixth floor of an apartment building in Saskatoon on Thursday.
Police responded to a call of an injured person on the 1400 bock of 20th Street west just after 7 p.m. and found the man suffering from multiple injuries as a result of the fall.
He was transported to the hospital and his injuries are considered life threatening.
