Traffic restrictions were put in place on Spadina Crescent near the weir after sections of guardrail on the train bridge fell onto a Saskatoon police car and the ground below.

Carter pleads not guilty to pot charge, plans charter application
Saskatchewan Roughriders star receiver Duron Carter has pleaded not guilty to possession of marijuana, a charge laid earlier this year after he was arrested at the Saskatoon airport.
Carter, 27, was not present in Saskatoon provincial court on Wednesday. His lawyer, Regina-based Louis Mercier, appeared by telephone and entered the plea on Carter’s behalf.

TORONTO — The acclaimed play “Jerusalem,” starring Saskatoon actor Kim Coates of “Sons of Anarchy” and “Bad Blood,” was among the big winners at the Dora Mavor Moore Awards.
The production, in which Coates plays a daredevil who lives in a trailer in the woods, took six trophies to lead the general theatre division.
English playwright Jez Butterworth wrote the play, which marks Coates’s first stage role in nearly 30 years.
