New Faces New Places: Home Instead Senior Care moves to Idylwyld
For Saskatoon’s growing senior population the idea of letting go of one’s independence can be tough — but Home Instead Senior Care is here to make the transition to in-home healthcare seamless while helping their clients remain as independent as possible.
At the heart of Home Instead’s care model is companionship said owner Greg Charyna, who recently moved the franchise to a larger space on Idywyld Drive.

Saskatoon council contemplates trash transformation
City council is expected to decide on Monday whether to make major changes to trash collection in Saskatoon to try to divert more material from the landfill.
The most transformative decision council is slated to make at its regular 1 p.m. meeting pertains to how waste is collected.
Council will decide whether to move forward with a new approach that would remove the cost of curbside pickup from property taxes and implement a fee based on the volume of trash residents throw out, using three -

Review: The Flaming Lips' psychedelic wonder party a hard concert to top
Stepping into the Bessborough gardens on Saturday night for the Flaming Lips concert was like stepping into a brightly coloured psychedelic fever dream — and every moment was performing brilliance.
The alternative rock band was the first main stage show for this year’s SaskTel Saskatchewan Jazz Festival. While they almost certainly were not a jazz band, the music was superb and the spectacle they put on was second to none.
Opening act Wand was solid in their garage-style noise rock p -

They’re accompanied by family members, and they’ll stay for three nights, tasting the city, tightening bonds and experiencing … what do we call this? Fame? Widespread -

Financial incentives for waste reduction
Re: City proposes user fees to finance trash collection (SP, June 7)
I thought this was a much-needed report on stringently controlling waste that is headed for the landfill. At a recent Ward 7 meeting, Mayor Clark expressed concern for construction refuse. In volume, that is likely so. However, I believe a great deal of household rubbish could be diverted if the city would follow the lead set by other municipalities (Victoria, Vancouver) in banning speci -
