60 years of service: Celebration to honour dedication of Colin Clay, Bernard de Margerie
Rev. Canon Colin Clay and Rev. Bernard de Margerie share a unique connection. On June 1, 1958, both were ordained for Christian ministry, one as an Anglican, the other as a Catholic.
Clay, along with 15 deacons and 14 other priests, was ordained at 800-year-old Southwark Anglican Cathedral in London, England. The congregation was so large the event was ticketed and it was, Clay says, “a very long service.”
On the same day, de Margerie was the only priest ordained at Saint-Philippe-Ne -

Transit system needs to be fixed
Again Saskatoon Transit speaks of things to come, using fancy buzz words like “DART” and “BRT — Bus Rapid Transit.”
The latest study version, Future Bus Rapid Transit Plans, calls for a restructuring of Saskatoon Transit to more of a grid network with direct two-way routes serving major corridors and development nodes. Hmm, that sounds like what Transit had before the complete overhaul in 2005 — two-way bus routes abandoned for -
Fuller: A fire, a woolly mammoth and, maybe, a lesson
There’s a lesson for me in the Kyle Hotel fire. It’s just that I’m not sure what it is.
On May 14, I was driving from Medicine Hat to Saskatoon. The middle part is a clear shot from Swift Current to Rosetown on Highway 4, a two-lane stereotype of Saskatchewan-straight pavement made for big pickup trucks to guzzle gallons and spit out miles.
The town of Kyle is on that road. It dates back to 1923, named after original settler Jeremiah Kyle. In the 1960s, they unearthed a 12,000- -
Cuthand: Indigenous people see the balance in natural events
When it comes to nature and the natural world, Indigenous people have a much different world view than the rest of the modern world. This comes out at times when the news media reports on natural disasters that Indigenous people refer to as natural disturbances.
It’s overkill to call a natural event a disaster when it has been occurring since the world began.
A good example is all the hoopla about the eruption of the Kilauea volcano in Hawaii.

Book review: Coming to grips with warlike horrors in the B.C. interior
Before the Vietnam War and subsequent conflicts brought Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) to the attention of the general public, there were the First and Second World Wars and the people who returned from them (or didn’t), often damaged in some way and, following the code of the times, unwilling to talk about it.
