A Saskatoon man is facing firearms related charges after a sawed-off shotgun was found in a bag he was carrying alongside ammunition and bear spray.
At roughly 5:10 p.m. on Tuesday members of the Saskatoon Police Service’s Guns and Gangs unit saw a wanted man riding a bike near the intersection of 20th Street West and Avenue W South, according to a police news release.
When police called the man’s name, he fled on the bike, abandoning the bike and a backpack in the 200 block of Whitn

In a new approach to budgeting, Saskatoon city council endorsed in principle a 2019 property tax increase of between four per cent and 4.5 per cent.
That range may allow council to add spending priorities above the 3.16 per cent increase that is needed just to maintain current spending and service levels.
Council can now consider ranking a variety of spending initiatives, such as improving service in certain areas like snow clearing, or contributing to various reserve funds.

Saskatoon Police are continuing to seize drugs which are found to contain several potentially lethal substances. Following an arrest on March 25, 2018, a woman was found to be in possession of 2.7 grams of an unknown substance while in the detention area. Drug analysis has found the substance to contain something known as Methoxyacetylfentanyl, along with heroin, fentanyl and caffeine. Fire crews resuscitate dog after Mayfair house fire
A dog was taken to the Vet Medical Centre at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine after a fire broke out at a one storey home in Saskatoon’s Mayfair neighbourhood.

I am writing in hopes of getting the word out about the city bylaw regarding parking in alleys.
We recently attended our son’s soccer practice at Greystone Park. At the end of practice upon returning to our vehicle a commissionaire was placing a ticket on our window. We were parked in the alley alongside the park, as were many other vehicles.
