Yesterday evening, the body of a 25-year-old man was recovered from the river near the area of the Broadway Bridge. The man has been identified and his family has been notified. Saskatoon police have laid charges in the city’s 3rd homicide of 2017.
Two men have been charged with manslaughter and accessory after the fact to discharging a firearm while being reckless to the life or safety of another person in the death of Tyler Applegate, according to a police news release.

UPDATE: Suspicious Activity
The Saskatoon Police Service would like to make the public aware of a piece of misinformation regarding suspicious activity near a school in the 300 block of Russell Road last week. (see release below)The SPS’s School Resource Unit found that the van reported to Police, that was said to have offered a ride to a student, was in fact being driven by a parent known to that student.
