A 26-year-old Saskatoon man is in police custody facing robbery and weapons charges related to an armed robbery that took place Wednesday afternoon.
According to a police news release, officers responded to a report of a robbery in progress just before 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday at a convenience store on the 3900 block of 8th Street East.
Prior to police arriving at the scene, the suspect fled the area with an undisclosed amount of money after threatening the store’s cashier with a knife.

Jazz Intensive applications now open for students
Applications are now open for the TD Jazz Intensive at the SaskTel Saskatchewan Jazz Festival until May 18.
The weeklong program, June 25 to June 30, is open to secondary and post-secondary students. A week of workshops with top touring artists culminates in a June 30 performance at the Bassment.
