  A 44-year-old man has died in custody at the Pelican Narrows RCMP detachment.
  The man was found unresponsive in the detachment’s cell area at 9 a.m. on Monday, RCMP reported in a news release. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
  The RCMP have since asked the Ministry of Justice to appoint an independent observer and have asked the Prince Albert city police to investigate the circumstances of the Pelican Narrows man’s “sudden” in-custody death.
