Saskatoon police say they used a bean bag weapon and two conducted energy weapons — also known Tasers — on a man who they say refused to drop a knife he was carrying.
Police responded to the 100 block of Clarence Avenue shortly after noon on Tuesday after they received a report of a man harming himself, according to a news release.
The man had been seen leaving the area and walking towards the river. Officers found him in possession of a knife on the riverbank near 16th Street East,

The family of a 19-year-old man who died from injuries suffered in a northern Saskatchewan airliner crash will celebrate his life and lay him to rest on Tuesday.
Arson Fern Jr. died in a Saskatoon hospital on Christmas Day. He suffered two broken legs, a broken pelvis, a collapsed lung and internal bleeding when the West Wind Aviation ATR-42 crashed on Dec. 13.

Nutrien Ltd., the company formed after the long-awaited merger between Potash Corp. of Saskatchewan Inc. and Agrium Inc., began trading on stock exchanges in Toronto and New York on Tuesday, one day after the multibillion-dollar deal closed.
