Salvation Army fundraising campaign off to slow start
The Saskatoon Salvation Army is in danger of raising less money this year than last year through its Christmas Kettle campaign.
Bell ringers at 18 locations across the city aimed to raise $300,000 between Nov. 16 and Dec. 24. As of Monday morning — with just 13 days left in the campaign — only $124,348 had come in.

An arson investigation is underway after a large fire at a well-known nightlife location in Saskatoon.
Saskatoon fire crews and police responded Tuesday to a 911 call that came in at 5:21 a.m., about smoke and flames coming from building currently housing Saskatoon Event Centre/Matriarch Nightclub. The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed head coach, general manager and vice-president of football operations Chris Jones to a one-year contract extension, carrying through the 2019 CFL season.

The cause of a large fire at a well-known nightlife location in Saskatoon was not immediately known.
