Const. Mike Chernyk didn’t go to work Saturday intending to be a hero.
The 11-year veteran of the Edmonton Police Service was doing a little extra work, providing traffic direction outside of Commonwealth Stadium, where the Edmonton Eskimos were playing.

A Prince Albert man who posted nude photos on the internet of his ex-girlfriend has been ordered to pay $30,500 to cover the cost of removing the digital images.
The 25-year-old man, in P.A. provincial court this week, pleaded guilty to publishing intimate images without consent. In addition to restitution, Judge Leslie Matsalla sentenced him to two years probation.

Danielle Altrogge has been named the new head of the PotashCorp Fringe Theatre and Street Festival.
