Saskatoon set to bid for 2019 Juno Awards
The Juno Awards could soon be running back to Saskatoon.
Tourism Saskatoon chief executive officer Todd Brandt confirmed Wednesday that a bid is in the works for the 2019 Junos, a star-studded event that honours Canadian musicians and songwriters.
“We’re right in the process of putting together a bid committee and creating a bid document,” Brandt said in an interview. “It’s far from a done deal, but we’re well into the process.”

A house in Stonebridge has suffered major damage after a fire broke out Tuesday evening.
The fire department first received reports of the blaze at 722 Stonebridge Common just after 9:15 p.m. and when crews arrived on scene, they found the fire to be already fully involved with smoke and fire visible on all sides of the top floor, according to a fire department news release.
