Saskatoon police are investigating a shooting that sent a male victim to hospital.
Officers responded Thursday around 3 p.m. after a report of an injured person in the 2200 block of St. Charles Avenue, Saskatoon police said in a news release. Officers and emergency responders found the male suffering from a gunshot wound. There was a heavy police presence in the area in the minutes immediately after the incident.

Prince Albert RCMP responded Thursday around 8 a.m. to a report of a single-vehicle crash on Highway 302, approximately 25 kilometres west of P.A. A 40-year-old man in Saskatoon has been charged with assaulting a police officer during an incident in which a Taser was deployed.
The Saskatoon police air support unit spotted a fire and people in bushes near Dalmeny Road and 33rd Street on Thursday around 2:30 a.m. According to Saskatoon police in a news release, patrol officers responded to the scene and found a man sleeping. The death of a 33-year-old inmate at the Regional Psychiatric Centre in Saskatoon does not appear to be suspicious, says the facility’s assistant warden.
