Couple transforms spare room into unofficial Tim Hortons museum
A couple in Montreal have opened a museum dedicated entirely to Tim Hortons. They have the board-game “Timopoly,” a Tim Hotons bathrobe, a “rim roller” to help during the annual Roll-Up-The-Rim-To-Win contest and -- perhaps strangest of all -- earrings shaped like Iced Capps. -

Unclaimed Saskatchewan: Caring for unclaimed cremated remains
Compared to a person’s lifespan, cremating a body doesn’t take long: About 180 minutes.
However, at some funeral homes in Saskatchewan, urns containing cremated human remains have been waiting to be picked up for years — in some cases, decades.
Numerous factors may be at play when this happens. Another death, like that of a partner, can leave an urn without a destination. It may be an unsettled family issue, a question of emotional stability or it may have just been indefinitel -

Cam Fuller: Dear CFL: I'm thinking of leaving you and it's all your fault
I never thought this would happen to me, but I’m considering a divorce.
It’s been a long relationship and I have a lot invested in it. But I just can’t take it. I’m not happy. In fact, I can barely stand to be in the same room as the CFL anymore.
The league I used to love has changed so much I don’t recognize it. It started with the challenge flag. If a coach disagrees with certain types of rulings on the field, he can challenge them. Let’s say a pass is ruled -

Cuthand: Mid-summer reflections on past and present
As we move into the dog days of summer, I look back and reflect that July has been an event filled month.
We just finished the North American Indigenous games in Toronto, where my son Lorne and his team took home a silver medal in the under-16 boys’ volleyball. He is a school counsellor and in the winter he decided he wanted to coach a team at NAIG. The volleyball teams were looking for coaches, so he took on the responsibility of the under-16 team.
Unfortunately, he lives in Alberta so he -
Artisan touches distinguish golf course home
When designing and constructing their latest show home, Rhonda and Rick Iula, the co-owners of Decora Homes, didn’t have to look farther than the property’s back yard for inspiration.
The couple wanted their new model home to reflect the natural beauty of its spectacular golf course setting. The 2,383-square foot walk-out bungalow is located on a prime three-quarter acre lot, backing onto the fourth fairway at Greenbryre Golf and Country Club.

Wine of the week: Time to stop ignoring Spanish whites
The Spanish wine section is largely ignored as a source of white wine. The Spanish make tons of the stuff, which makes perfect sense given their climate. Who wants to drink a sturdy red when the temperature is hovering near 40? The Spanish also love seafood, eating 25 kilos of the stuff per person every year, so keep those white wines coming, garçon.

Terry McBride: Tax tips for freelancers
When you are a freelancer, you decide when and how hard you want to work. You are your own boss.
As a self-employed contractor you do not receive T4 slips. Instead you must report your business income on schedule T2125 of your income tax return. You need to remit your own income tax and Canada Pension Plan contributions. You might also need to register for a GST number.
Here are some basic tips for claiming business expenses as tax deductions.
