A 23-year-old man is facing a number of firearms charges following a traffic stop earlier this morning. Saskatoon police are asking for help to find an 11-year-old girl.
Nikeelin Parenteau was last seen around 11 a.m. Monday at a school in the 200 block of Avenue S South.
Parenteau is described as Indigenous with fair skin, brown eyes and brown, straight, shoulder-length hair. She is four feet seven inches tall and weighs 140 pounds.
Parenteau was last seen wearing a black and white bunnyhug and black pants.

School divisions change bus rules in Saskatoon
Some students will no longer be able to bus to classes after a recent change by school boards to save money.
Saskatoon Public Schools and Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools (GSCS) issued a joint news release Tuesday outlining the cost-saving measure.

Ghosts, spirits and other assorted apparitions beware — Ernie Hudson is coming to Saskatoon for the Saskatoon Comic and Entertainment Expo.
“We ain’t afraid of no ghost, and neither is our first guest announcement of 2017, Mr. Ernie Hudson,” the group said in a Facebook post.

Indigenous theatre students mark completion of program with original show
Two years ago, the first students to take part in the wîcêhtowin Aboriginal Theatre Program at the University of Saskatchewan set up a teepee together at dawn. Nearly 50 people crammed into the structure for a pipe ceremony, followed by an opening feast.

Saskatoon public, Catholic school divisions to make deep cuts to bus service for pre-K, K-8 students
Saskatoon Public Schools and Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools plan to make significant cuts to the bus service they provide to elementary students at a savings of $1 million for each school division, they announced in a joint news release.
The joint move is a response to cuts to the provincial operating grants announced in the 2017-2018 budget. The SPS faces an $11.5 million budget shortfall and the GSCS faces a $9.7 million shortfall.
