Investigation in fatal military parachute accident looks at training, procedures
YORKTON — A report on the death of a search-and-rescue technician in a parachute training accident says the investigation is focusing on human factors, including training and emergency procedures.
Master Cpl. Alfred Barr, who was a member of 435 Transport and Rescue Squadron at 17 Wing in Winnipeg, died in March while on a training mission in Saskatchewan.

Man charged after incident involving knife at school on Cote First Nation
A 19-year-old man has been charged after an incident at a Saskatchewan school involving a knife.
Kamsack RCMP say they got a call on May 10 about a man brandishing a knife at the Chief Gabriel School on the Cote First Nation.
Police found the man on the roof of the school and he came down about 90 minutes later.

Foul play is not suspected after a 30-year-old man died while in custody at the Saskatchewan Penitentiary.

Jeffery Straker might not reveal all his deepest and darkest secrets in Dirt Road Confessional, but he admits the album is his most personal to date.

Graham DeLaet played in the very first one, when it was known as Saskatchewan’s RBC Open.
DeLaet, now a fixture on the PGA Tour, did not actually win that inaugural tournament back in 2004. He shot back-to-back rounds of 75 to go 6-over-par at Nipawin’s Evergreen Course.
Prince Albert’s Ashley Ziegeman prevailed as the champion with rounds of 71 and 74.
The tournament — now known as the Scotia Wealth Open — is entering its 14th year and will be played June 3 and 4. -

A woman is facing charges after a melee at a Saskatoon drive-thru.
Police said they were called to a restaurant on the 2200 block of 22nd Street West around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The incident reportedly started when two men approached a vehicle stopped in the drive-thru.
