Glavin: There's hope – however faint – for another Arab Spring
It may be too soon to call this week’s stunning upheaval in Algeria a sign of the Arab Spring’s second coming, but it’s the most encouraging victory Arab democrats have scored for themselves in years. While the revolutionary tumults that spread from Cairo’s Tahrir Square across North Africa and the Levant in 2011 were mostly crushed, Algeria has rekindled hopes. Editorial: Trudeau and the Liberals should be ashamed
In her unsuccessful written plea to remain a member of the federal Liberal caucus, Jody Wilson-Raybould wrote to her fellow MPs: “Ultimately the choice that is before you is about what kind of party you want to be a part of, what values it will uphold, the vision that animates it, and indeed the type of people it will attract.”
