Spring outside while you can, the wet weather will return
After days and days of weather gloom, your patience is being rewarded today with a sunny, slightly warmer taste of spring.
Wednesday’s high is expected to top 6 C under clear skies and a moderate UV index of 5.
The evening chill is expected to slip to -3 C, feeling like -8, but you’ll probably be indoors when that happens.
Thursday, clouds are back, increasing through the day with, sigh, periods of rain beginning in the afternoon. The high is expected to be about 7 C.

Cohen: Clear of Mueller, Trump is free to be even more Trump-like
So Donald Trump declares that Robert Mueller has cleared him. Total vindication. The president asserts his innocence, and the unfairness of it all, like a crazed parrot in a gilded cage.
At every opportunity since Mueller’s findings landed — before Trump got on Air Force One in Florida, after he got off Air Force One in Washington, at the White House and on Twitter — he has called this a hoax, a witch hunt, a lynching, an auto-de-fé.

Re: There’s a dark side to Ottawa that most people don’t see, March 25
This piece really struck home. Kevin Richard’s compassion for those he serves and those he has attempted to save from personal disaster and those whom he was unable to reach in time paints a picture of a remarkable human being. Someone who in essence, performing the position entrusted to him, sacrifices his own well-being in service to others.
Mr. Richard’s descriptive and po -

City drops the hammer on developers, utilities who slow traffic and damage roads
The City of Ottawa is sick of developers and utility companies mucking up the roads with too much risk falling on municipal taxpayers.
Proposed changes to the 16-year-old road activity bylaw would give city hall more protection against cheaply done road repairs when companies, or even one of its own departments, need to dig up part of a road to access underground infrastructure.
If staff recommendations receive council’s endorsement next month, home builders, Hydro Ottawa, Bell Canada and -

Ontario Court Justice Robert Kelly dismissed a counter motion from the Crown, which had sought to quash the defence application. The judge ruled the defence “has identified a basis in fact and law on which its proposed charter
