Dog sniffs out suspect in robbery of Gatineau convenience store
Gatineau police say a man who left a convenience store in a big hurry drew attention to himself, which led a witness to pass on an excellent description to police.
One man has since been arrested for robbery.

City police are asking the public to help them identify a suspect in a Walkley Road robbery last month.

City police are asking the public to help them identify a suspect in a Walkley Road robbery last month.
The man is alleged to have walked into a convenience store near Albion Road at about 1:30 a.m. Feb. 8. He produced a knife and demanded cash then fled with an undisclosed sum along with cigarettes and lottery tickets.
The suspect is described as black, in his 30s and wearing dark-coloured clothing.

Body found in rubble of Gatineau fire early Monday
Gatineau police are investigating after a body was pulled from the rubble of a fire near Les Promenades Gatineau overnight.
First responders were called to 40 Robinson Street at about 1:45 a.m. as the 24-unit building was evacuated.

The City of Ottawa has refused an access-to-information request by this newspaper seeking a report on a collision that involved the OC Transpo driver who was later involved in the January bus crash at Westboro station.

Retaliation for Ottawa gangland murder acquittal suspected as motive in two shootings
Ottawa police are probing the separate shootings of two lovers and alleged drug dealers as retribution for a gangland murder acquittal.
This newspaper first reported that Tarig Mohamed, 44, the brother of a man acquitted of murdering Mohamed Najdi in 2016, was shot last November. His girlfriend, Michelle Naylor, 34, was then shot in January.
Mohamed was shot in the shoulder in the parking lot at Billings Bridge mall and took himself to hospital.
