  Richard Lincoln still gets tearful remembering the day his son Eli was diagnosed with a disease so rare there are only 25 documented diagnoses in the world.
  For the first time, Eli’s diagnosis also explained to Richard Lincoln many things about himself.

  The father of a convicted murderer has been sentenced to prison time for possessing heroin intended to be sold on the streets.
  Temorshah Hafizi, 46, was convicted in December 2018 of the drug offence and threatening an Ottawa police officer.
  Police laid those charges against the father of five after gleaning evidence from a 2012 wiretap as part of a murder probe in which his son was the prime suspect.

  Public health officials are reminding doctors to watch closely for measles cases and to make sure patients are up to date with their immunizations.
  Dr. Robin Taylor, associate medical officer of health at Ottawa Public Health, recently wrote an article reminding Ottawa doctors to keep measles at the “top of their minds” when they see patients. Suspected cases should be reported to public health, so they can trace contacts to prevent the spread of the highly infectious disease.

  Q: This chest of drawers has been in our family since the 1950s.  It is a fairly soft wood (maybe butternut) with handmade double leaf-shaped pulls and hand-fitted drawers.  The top is a harder wood (probably not original) and the mirror was added on about 15 years ago.  The piece has been somewhat distressed over the years but is still a thing of beauty and utility.  Do you have any idea how old and valuable this chest might be?
