An elderly Maitland, Ont. man was killed in a collision with a Via Rail passenger train while apparently crossing the train tracks in a relatively remote section of railway Friday afternoon.
The victim was identified as 78-year-old John Holman, Maitland is about 10 kilometres east of Brockville.

Kingston police have charged a 17-year-old youth with child pornography offences as a result of an investigation that started in the United Kingdom.
In a news release, police said they on Dec, 24, 2018 of a child luring investigation, originating in the UK, involving two girls who had been having online contact with a teen boy over social media.
The boy had coerced the girls into sending him intimate pictures of themselves. The girls then contacted police in the UK.

Months later, the memory of the pain is still knife-sharp for patient Lynne Miles.
