Two teenagers are facing a raft of charges after a car chase last Friday that began on Cobourg Street and ended in Vanier.
The chase began just after 4 p.m. when Ottawa police spotted a stolen car and tried to stop it. The driver took off, but officers found the still-running car abandoned on Montreal Road, just east of the Cummings Bridge. A loaded handgun was found on the road by the car, police say. The teens were arrested nearby.

Cohen: When U.S. presidents lie, the damage can be devastating
WASHINGTON – Walter B. Jones was a 12-term Republican congressman from North Carolina. He was so enthusiastic about the U.S. invasion of Iraq in 2003 – and so angry with France for opposing it – that he wanted to rename French fries “Freedom Frees.”
But not long into the war, Jones began to question it. He came to recognize that the assumptions that had led to the war – that Iraq was linked to al-Qaeda, that it had weapons of mass destruction – were fabr -

For me, a longtime environmental and social advocate, the convoy brings a snarl of conflicting issues into my hometown, which happens to be Canada’s political centre.

Overwhelmingly, responsible Canadians have indicated that our federal justice department had, when requested, no choice under the treaty but to arrest Meng. This applied despite President Donald Trump’s ill-considered comment that he might withdraw the se -
Fyfe: For government to stay relevant, it must prepare for the future
