  Mark Rolley had already been diagnosed with — among other things — skin cancer, hypothyroidism, fibromyalgia, depression, chronic pain and restless leg syndrome when a car struck him on Jan. 10, 2012.

  CORNWALL — Cornwall Community Police have given the all-clear on a lockdown that affected many schools and residents in the city’s core.
  Every school in downtown Cornwall, as well as the Cornwall Community Hospital, was placed under lockdown as a precautionary measure just before 9 a.m. on Tuesday after a man believed to be armed with a rifle was initially spotted in area Amelia Street. Police later said the weapon was a pellet gun.

  One person was displaced after fire swept through a home on Trout Road in the Quebec town of Poltimore Tuesday morning.
  Volunteer firefighters were called to the residence shortly after 10:30 a.m. and found the residence engulfed by flames.
  The woman and her three dogs were able to get out of the structure unharmed.
  There was no immediate dollar estimate of damages.

  A man in his 50s sustained serious burns to his face and hands Tuesday morning after a propane tank exploded at a construction site in Old Stittsville.
  Ottawa Paramedic Service said they were called to the scene at Carp and Hazeldean roads shortly after 11 a.m.
  A paramedics spokesman said the victim was working in a small unit that contained propane tanks. One of the tanks blew up when the victim turned on a light.
