Hey 19: Some Ottawans give advice to their teenage selves
-
MacDougall: Will the bill ever come due for Justin Trudeau's Liberals?
January is a sobering time.
Pickled by excess Christmas drink, more North Americans are now observing “dry January,” the month-long no-booze bandwagon started here in the United Kingdom, i.e. by a people who know their way to the bottom of a bottle (and have a reason to know how to find it, thanks to Brexit).
And then there’s the debt.
Retailers might be moaning about anemic sales, but most of us still have stonking credit card bills thanks to the stress of carrying Santa&rsquo -

Can mediation solve the LeBreton Flats legal dispute?
Does mediation offer magic dust that can get the fractured RendezVous LeBreton development proposal back on the rails? It is not exactly magic, but it could be a formula that works.
With just two weeks until the Jan. 19 deadline set by the National Capital Commission to disintegrate the deal, and a very public legal dispute among partners Eugene Melnyk, John Ruddy and Graham Bird, news came Friday that the parties had agreed to early mediation.
The project is too important to fail and is “ -

Advice to a 19-year-old Gabriela Dabrowski
If you could travel back in time and talk to yourself at age 19 — that age of potential, idealism and, oh yes, insecurity — what words of wisdom would you offer? We asked some Ottawans for their thoughts as we start 2019.
