Police chase ends with car punching into Vanier home
A car being chased by Ottawa police punched a hole in a Vanier house around 1 a.m. Sunday, and the province’s Special Investigations Unit will investigate.
Police say they tried to pull over a driver in the area of Coté Street and Richelieu Avenue. When they turned on the cruiser’s lights the driver fled, lost control of his car, and hit the front wall of a house on Jean Talon Street. No one was home at the time.

Vanier roads closed because of 'police operation'
Ottawa Police Services are advising of the following road closures in Vanier because of a ‘police operation’.
-Pie Xii Street from Richelieu Avenue to Jean Talon Street;
-Jean Talon Street from Richelieu Avenue to Blake Boulevard.
Police are requesting the general public to avoid the area until the operation is complete. They released their statement just before 4:30 a.m. Sunday.
