Boil water advisory for parts of Hull lifted
The city of Gatineau has lifted the boil water advisory that was imposed earlier this week after a water main break on Alexandre-Taché Boulevard.
In a media release Thursday, the city said analyses and tests confirm that the water is safe to consume.
Affected residents should open all taps and let the water run for one minute or until it runs cold before using it. This also applies to water fountains, and any ice made from tap water during the advisory should be discarded.

An Ottawa man is facing several charges after police, acting on a tip from U.S. Homeland Security, rescued a woman who is alleged to have been sexually extorted.

Ontario’s police watchdog will lay no charges against Ontario Provincial Police officers who left a 49-year-old woman outside her home in Tichborne, north of Kingston, where she died alone of hypothermia.
In a report released Thursday, Tony Loparco, director of the Special Investigations Unit, categorized Debra Anne Hill’s death as “unfortunate (but) unforeseeable.”
