A 30-year-old Ottawa man had his licence suspended, his car seized and faces a stiff fine and possible criminal charges after a head-on collision early Sunday morning.
In a media release, Sûreté du Québec say they were called to a collision at the Hwy. 5 North exit ramp to St-Raymond at around 4 a.m. Sunday.
According to initial reports, the collision occurred when a vehicle took the outbound lane from Boul. St-Raymond while a vehicle had just taken the exit on Hwy. 5 North. -

Philipp Derek Drake Doctor, who is from St. Catharines, was last seen in Ottawa in late November.

Clerk hit with phone, stapler during robbery: Police
A woman working at a Byward Market store was repeatedly struck with a phone and a stapler and punched in a robbery Friday afternoon until a passerby heard her screaming for help.
Police say that the clerk had confronted a woman who walked into the store on York Street near Dalhousie Street at about 2:45 p.m. and tried to take money from the till.
She fled with an undisclosed sum, but was arrested by patrol officers shortly afterwards.

Patrol officers nabbed three robbery suspects after a 43-year-old man was robbed and pepper sprayed in the Billings Bridge area early Sunday morning.
The trio followed the victim as he walked through a Riverside Drive parking lot after he took money out of a bank machine. They swarmed him, one brandishing a knife, then sprayed him in a struggle before fleeing with his backpack.

Wintry weather is on the way.
Monday’s forecast is for a 70 per cent chance of flurries and northwesterly winds at 30 km/h gusting to 50 near noon as the temperature drops to -3 C by afternoon then -10 C overnight. There’s a risk of early-morning freezing drizzle.
Overnight, there’s a 30 per cent chance of flurries and a windchill of -12 in the evening and -17 overnight.
Mixed skies, a high of -7 C and a low of -13 C is in the forecast for Tuesday.

New Civic campus on track: 'We need a new hospital,' MacLeod says
A new Civic hospital is a priority for the Doug Ford government, says Nepean MPP and cabinet minister Lisa MacLeod.

Three years after John Hatch was found dead, police have reissued a call for witnesses to come forward to help solve the homicide case.
