Denley: Time for another look at the alternative LeBreton Flats plan
Don’t give up on redeveloping LeBreton Flats just yet. The NHL hockey rink/condos/retail plan of local developer John Ruddy and his disgruntled partner Eugene Melnyk seems to be on life support, but the reappearance of the other finalist in the National Capital Commission’s LeBreton competition offers a possible solution.
The alternative bid is worth a serious second look by both the NCC and the public. It is strong on public uses, less reliant on the condo market, and still offers t -

Bundle up for some chilly days but at least there's sunshine ahead
We’ve got some wind-chilly then just plain chilly days in the forecast but expect some glorious sunshine by the weekend.
Ottawa awoke Tuesday morning to -6 C that felt like a brisk -14 and it’s not going to feel any warmer. The forecast high is -4 C but the wind chill won’t budge thanks to northwesterly winds at 20 km/h gusting to 40.
Overnight, the forecast low is -10 C with a wind chill of -15.
For Wednesday, expect a mix of sun and cloud with winds of up to 15 km/h that will -
