  A 26-year-old Perth woman has been charged with driving while impaired by drugs after a motorist’s erratic driving led to a collision in Kingston on Tuesday.
  A one-year-old child was in the back seat at the time.
  Kingston police said the incident occurred at about 10:30 a.m. when a woman was driving on Perth Road. She swerved suddenly, nearly causing a collision with a passing vehicle before she rear-ended another vehicle stopped for a red light.

  Hydro Ottawa says 611 customers are still without power in the city’s south end Wednesday after an excavation machine hit a utility pole, knocking wires down on the equipment.
  The outage, with originally affected 1,055 customers, is in area of Rideau, River, Spratt and Earl Armstrong roads.

  A 34-year-old Kingston-area woman was charged with impaired driving early Wednesday after allegedly driving over a concrete curb and across a soccer field to get to a bar.

  Q:  I inherited this mug and would love to know a bit more about it. I’m intrigued by the handle, which seems to show some sort of strange snake goblin that doesn’t seem to go at all with the floral design on the piece. It has a marking on the bottom showing part of a crown and the words “Patent Ironstone China” and stands 10 cm high and 14 cm across (4 x 5.5 inches). Why the strange handle?
