A 19-year-old woman has been charged after running nearly naked through Kingston General Hospital, police report.
Police said in a new release that on Wednesday at about 10 a.m., a woman went to KGH, where she got undressed and put on only a lab coat.
When confronted by security, the woman began running through the hospital, exposing herself as the lab coat was not done up.
The woman eventually fled the hospital but was apprehended by security near King and Barrie streets, where she was arrested

Smoked out: How Canada's pot producers could overshoot demand
In all the great songs written about pot, from Bob Marley’s Kaya to John Prine’s Illegal Smile, none have ever dealt with the problem of there being too much weed.
As legalization looms on the Canadian horizon, suppliers concerned about not being able to meet initial demand are ramping up production capacity ahead of Oct. 17. (On a corporate earnings call this spring, Aphria CEO Vic Neufeld noted that “unless someone’s out there hiding 100,000 kilograms, we’re looki -

'Time to get bike lights': Shaken cyclist shares terrifying close call
When cyclist Nick Matchem got a GoPro camera for Christmas, he started sharing the dumb moves by motorists he filmed on the road.
So when he had his own close call — while riding his bike in the dark with no lights — the 27-year-old felt it would be “hypocritical” not to share it on Reddit.
His YouTube video, now with more than 1,000 views, is like an F-bomb studded but somehow very Canadian PSA on cycling safety.
“I messed up pretty bad,” Matchem said Friday -

Gormley: What Bernier's apparent case of cultural anxiety demonstrates
Rank xenophobia is somehow more tolerable when the people who propagate it don’t pretend that they are propagating something else entirely. Politicians can take away people’s rights and freedoms, but manners dictate they should not call them stupid while they’re at it.
Oh, but they just have innocent security concerns, they insist; innocent jobs-loss concerns, they say; or innocent questions about whether abortion is a subversion tactic immigrants deploy to establish white-mino -
Editorial: Turn down the heat on immigration, politicians
The differences between the federal Liberals and the Conservatives over immigration are so great, it seems, that the issue is likely to become a centrepiece of the 2019 federal election. But is the gap really that deep?
Of late, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has loudly defended immigration, asserting that “intolerance towards immigrants has no place in Canada.” Nor will he tolerate any political party that practises “the politics of fear and division.”
Yet his target, the -

Real estate agents pull out all the stops to sell high end properties
As the sun sets over the city on a warm August evening, well-heeled real estate agents and their clients sip a glass of bubbly while exploring an elegant property and its thousand square foot rooftop terrace that showcases pristine views of Ottawa’s downtown skyline.
This may sound like a picture-perfect scene out of HGTV’s show Million Dollar Listing New York but it’s an exclusive agent showing in Hintonburg, an added touch that is becoming more common with the growth of Ottaw -

Sunshine and 29 C for Friday, but weekend could have issues
First the good news: Friday’s forecast features pure sunshine and 29 C.
The Environment Canada professionals predict a slight humidity factor, making the high feel like 32 and a UV index 7 or high.
Friday night’s low is expected to be 17.
Let’s dwell on that before considering the outlook of a cloudier weekend with the risk of rain.
Clouds are expected to roll in after midnight and Saturday morning starts out at 17 C rising to 25 C under mainly cloudy skies, Environment Canada -

Today's letters: Heron Gate, OC Transpo and a thank-you
Heron Gate editorial off the mark
Re: Editorial: Give landlord some credit for helping Heron Gate, Aug. 18.
Your editorial opining that the Ottawa public ought to “give (Timbercreek Asset Management) some credit for helping Heron Gate” has left the residents of one of Ottawa’s most vulnerable communities at best bewildered, but more aptly demoralized and scared. And for the 105 families who face eviction Sept. 30, fear is only the beginning.
Your claims that “ -
Wrapped in the red and white: Brockville man spends seven years, $250k researching Canada's flag
Bob Harper wanted to paint a Canadian flag on his garage door, but there was a problem: The door’s dimensions — 15 feet by about seven feet — did not perfectly align with the flag’s 2:1 aspect ratio.
For people like us, this detail might have easily been overcome by simply stretching the whole thing a smidge, or by leaving the outer six inches on each side unpainted, or having slightly wider red bars.
But it is no understatement to say that Harper, a Brockville nativ -

Canopy Growth CEO wants to bring tourists back to Smiths Falls — with a weed museum
As you wind through the small and often narrow streets of Smiths Falls, cutting through quiet neighbourhoods where the homes gesture to some historic Ontarian pastoral, the Tweed factory and its surrounding compound emerge, to paraphrase Hemingway, gradually, and then all at once.
Construction workers and communications staff mill about in roughly equal numbers, and as you pull into 1 Hershey Way, you are pulling into the buzzing nerve centre of the Canadian cannabis explosion, set against the b -
Supreme Court sets stage for revolution in home sales
Canadians might soon be able to find out how much the house down the street sold for, without getting up from their couch.
The Supreme Court of Canada has announced it will not hear an appeal from the Toronto Real Estate Board, which has been arguing for years that housing sales prices, broker commissions and pending sales do not need to be publicly disclosed.
