  A fierce and smoky fire consumed a hedge and two sheds Sunday afternoon in Nepean.
  Firefighters got multiple 911 calls at around 1:45 to report a fire at the rear of 14 Bowmoor St. near Meadowlands Drive and Merivale Road. When they arrived, they found thick black smoke blanketing the area and a fire burning in a hedge that ran along a number of properties. The fire also destroyed two small sheds.

  Ottawa firefighters made quick work of a grass fire on the city’s far west side Sunday afternoon.
  Firefighters were called to 3115 Old Almonte Rd. at 1:30 p.m. and arrived on the scene 10 minutes later. The fire was under control in about 15 minutes after burning an area about 15 metres by 23 metres. There were no injuries.

  Firefighters in Gatineau spent two hours overnight battling a fire in a commercial building at 321 Lanoraie that caused $85,000 damage.
  Firefighters were called to the blaze at Claude Bisson landscapers at 11:47 p.m. It took 31 firefighters from 12 fire vehicles to fight the fire in the two-storey structure.
