  The 66th annual Tulip Festival will be in full bloom this weekend. Close to one million tulips of 100 varieties will brighten flower beds around Ottawa and Gatineau.
  This year, expect to see plenty of light, creamy yellow. The May 11-21 festival will showcase the “World Friendship” tulip, developed by Marcel Lenard from France in 1988.   Ottawa police searching for drugs at a home in north Vanier Wednesday found a new version of what they think is a deadly opioid, and it looks like putty with purple dye.

  Water levels are dropping in Gatineau, and the city says sunny days and dryer weather lie ahead.
  “For the moment, nothing indicates that there will be another rise in water levels,” a statement from the city said Thursday.
  It says the levels are likely to keep dropping day by day.

  A wanted man found hiding in a trunk was located with numerous weapons and drugs Sunday night, report Kingston police.
  Police said in a news release that at approximately 9:45 p.m. officers saw a vehicle ignore a no-left turn sign to enter Montreal Street.

  Ottawa police are asking for the public’s help to locate a missing Ottawa man.
  Police say Lucas Nuttall, 19, was last seen in downtown Ottawa and his family is greatly concerned for his safety. Police would not reveal how long Nuttall has been missing.
  His described as a white male, standing six feet (183cm) tall and weighing 130 lbs (59 kg). He has a slim build, short blond hair, and blue eyes.

  Firefighters were called in to free a six-year-old’s finger Thursday morning after the tyke slipped on a washer that no amount of parental effort (and soap, one bets) could budge.
