Man wounded in afternoon shooting in city's Chinatown district
One man has been hospitalized in critical condition following a shooting near the intersection of Anderson and Booth streets in the Chinatown area of the city.
Police were called to the scene shortly before 4 p.m. and found the victim.
Paramedics reported they arrived to find the victim in cardiac arrest and they revived him before transporting him to hospital.
He was listed in critical condition at the time of arrival at hospital.

Watchdog report on Gatineau police actions in woman's death goes to prosecutors, coroner
Quebec’s police watchdog says it has completed its investigation into the conduct of Gatineau police in the 2017 death of a woman who was handcuffed by police, then died in hospital.
The Bureau des enquêtes indépendantes, which examines cases of death or serious injury involving police, says it has forwarded its file on the death of Nadia Racine, 34, to the director of criminal and penal prosecutions and the coroner’s office.

Police investigate suspicious Gatineau fire that displaced three residents
Gatineau police are investigating a suspicious Friday night fire in the city’s Vieux Hull district that displaced three people.
Firefighters were called to the eight-unit residential complex at 9 Rue St-Étienne, near Rue St-Rédempteur, shortly before 11 p.m.
Flames were shooting from a second-storey window, the fire service said in a release.

Seven Ottawa firms capture nine awards from Canadian Home Builders Association
Once again, Ottawa developers and design firms have been honoured for their work in Canada’s residential and construction industry.
The Canadian Home Builders Association (CHBA) awards were held Friday in Victoria, B.C.

Worker injured at Claridge construction site where man died two years ago
A construction worker was injured at a Claridge construction site Friday afternoon, the same site where a worker died two years ago.
The Ottawa Paramedic Service was called to the Icon condo building at the corner of Preston Street and Carling Avenue just after 2:30 p.m. A spokesperson said the man had been working on the seventh floor and was discovered injured on the fifth floor.
