  Ontario’s proposal to allow people to consume marijuana in hotel rooms opens the door to a boom in cannabis tourism, says lawyer Matt Mauer.
  Mauer heads the cannabis law group at Minden Gross in Toronto, and says he knows businesspeople who are interested in opening cannabis-friendly hotels and resorts.
  Mauer says he was surprised by the province’s proposal to loosen up the ban on consuming cannabis anywhere other than private homes. The government has also asked for public comments

  Gatineau police arrested a man and a woman at a Mont-Bleu apartment complex Saturday evening after a bullet had broken through a balcony window on a nearby street the night before, injuring a young woman.

  Ottawa police are reporting they received a 911 call at approximately  1:30 a.m. Sunday. The caller said that a male and female had been shot.
  The major crime unit is investigating the deaths as a murder-suicide. 
  The deaths occurred at 84 MacFarlane Road, in a neighbourhood between Merivale Road and Prince of Wales, south of Hunt Club.
  Neighbours said a man named Tony and his wife live at the home, and that they have three sons.

  That was all.
  In his wildest fantasies, Plouffe couldn’t have envisioned a comeback from a brain injury that would have him among the top 20 vote-getters in the early nominations for the 2018 Hobey Baker Award, presented to the NCAA’s top men’s hockey player.

  Guests at the deluxe Fairmont Château Montebello were forced into the cold early Saturday when a chimney fire sent smoke through the wooden building.
