  Carillion Canada — the company that cleans the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre, makes the food, runs the laundry, cuts the grass and fixes the building — has been granted protection from creditors by the Ontario Superior Court under the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act.

  Ontario Provincial Police are investigating the death of a man found in a home in Saint-Eugène, about an hour’s drive east of Ottawa’s downtown core.
  The man was found dead at the home near Hawkesbury on Wednesday morning, according to OPP.
  A forensic unit was investigating the home, and an autopsy was being performed.

  Taxpayers will spend an additional $2.5 million to extend the operation of the Canada 150 skating rink on Parliament Hill, Canadian Heritage confirmed Thursday.
  The heritage department had originally planned to keep the rink open until New Year’s Eve, but Heritage Minister Mélanie Joly announced in November that it would be extended until the end of February.
