  Best friends, soulmates, fiancées and boyfriends: that’s how friends and family are remembering some of the four Ontario utility workers who were killed in a helicopter crash near Tweed on Thursday.
  The men, identified by Hydro One as 39-year-old James Barager, 27-year-old Kyle Shorrock, and Jeff Howes and Darcy Jansen, both 26, were working on a transmission tower. The crash happened as the helicopter was preparing to land.

• OPP recover body of ice fisherman from lake near Perth

  Ontario Provincial Police have recovered the body of an elderly Tay Valley Township man who went missing while ice-fishing on the weekend.
  The man’s family had called police Saturday night when the man had not returned home on time on his ATV.
  Police said the family had noticed a large hole in the ice on Bennett Lake, which is about 15 kilometres west of Perth, and feared he might have fallen through.

• Defence Minister says Canada will support road building project in Jordan to enhance security

  Defence Minister Harjit Sajjan announced Sunday that Canada will support the construction and “rehabilitation” of a road along Jordan’s northern border with Syria. The project will contribute to the security and stability of Jordan by allowing the Jordanian Armed Forces to better respond to threats along the border, according to the Department of National Defence.

• Motorist faces criminal charges in fatal east-end Ottawa crash

  Ottawa police have charged a 33-year-old Ottawa man after a three vehicle-collision late Saturday night killed one person and left three people injured.
  Police said Sunday that a Dodge pickup eastbound on Regional Road 174 collided head on with a westbound Volvo. A Mazda then collided with the pickup. The collision happened about one kilometre east of Trim Road.

  Friends, family and even strangers have offered to donate parts of their livers to Delilah Saunders, the young Ottawa indigenous advocate who remains in critical condition after being flown to a Toronto liver transplant centre last week.
  Saunders’ lawyer Caryma Sa’d said Sunday that Saunders’ has received new medication and is slightly stronger than she has been “but is definitely not out of the woods. She is still in critical condition, but is better than she was.”

  The OPP is searching for a man who may have fallen through the ice as he fished on Bennett Lake, in Lanark County.  Worried that he had not returned home on time on his ATV, the man’s family called the police. OPP members arrived at the location in Tay Valley Township around 9:00 p.m. Saturday.

• One woman dead after hit and run in Gatineau

  One woman is dead following a hit and run in Gatineau Saturday, according to police. The woman, in her late sixties, was struck by a vehicle as it turned left from rue Jacques-Carter onto boulevard Gréber, near the Lady Aberdeen bridge.
  The driver of the vehicle did not stop following the incident, police say. The vehicle was described by police as a minibus used as accessible transportation for persons with disabilities.

• Early morning fire in Carlington, no injuries

  Ottawa Fire Services responded to a fire at 1390 Lepage Ave early Sunday morning that may have been started by a cigarette on a couch. 
  When Fire Services arrived to the apartment complex, smoke was discovered in unit 525.  A working fire was declared at 1:52 a.m., was under control by 1:58 a.m., and loss stopped at 2:14 a.m..
  Fire Services were alerted to the fire by a monitoring agency. No injuries have been reported.

  A pickup truck and a sedan hit head-on in a three-vehicle collision on Regional Road 174 Saturday night.
  One occupant had to be extricated from a vehicle, but there was no immediate word on their condition. Ottawa paramedics were on scene, tending to patients.
  Ottawa Fire Services received a call about the crash, just east of Trim Road, at 10:21.
