• Stretch of Blair Road shut due to culvert repairs, sinkhole

  A 500-metre stretch of Blair Road between Innes Road and Beaverpond Drive has been closed for culvert repairs.
  The damaged culvert, near the Pineview Golf Club, has caused a minor sinkhole.
  There was no official estimate on how long the section will be shut, but drivers should plan alternate routes for the time being.
  OC Transpo has rerouted several lines in the area.

  An investigation continues into the cause of a smoky laundry room fire early Saturday at Carleton University’s Lennox and Addington House residence.
  Ottawa fire services were alerted to the blaze near 1125 Colonel By Dr. by calls from the security and monitoring services and from residents reporting the smoke.
  Firefighters were able to gain control of the situation.

  Saturday looks like a 30 per cent chance of flurries, with no appreciable accumulation and a high of 0 C.
