No other federal departments will be relocated to 101 Colonel By Drive – DND to remain its only tenant
Some sources at National Defence headquarters in downtown Ottawa have been suggesting that other federal government departments will move into the building at 101 Colonel By Drive and share the facility with the Department of National Defence. That’s because office space in the building will become available as military personnel and DND staff relocate to the new DND facility at the former Nortel complex in west end Ottawa.

Concert preview: J.J. Shiplett — "We don’t need any more fluff in music"
Calgary singer-songwriter J.J. Shiplett has a theory about today’s country music: It’s all based on Tom Petty songs.“So much of what’s happening in country, roots, Americana, whatever you want to call it, is really some sort of weird adaptation of Tom Petty’s music,” Shiplett says. “He was known for simple, straightforward music and that’s basically what a lot of country is heading towards.”A decade or two ago, Shiplett’s rootsy, Spring -

Hurtubise: Imagine your life without a proper bathroom
In Canada, it is easy to take your toilet for granted – lock the door, do your business and flush. Yet, more than 2.3 billion people in the world still have nowhere decent to go to the toilet.
Why should we care?
Because the alternative to providing safe, decent toilets is a world where millions of people defecate in the open and get sick. Not only is this a fundamental indignity, it has far-reaching consequences that we often don’t fully understand or seldom talk about.
